The Farmer and the Fox

A farmer was greatly troubled when a fox wandered into his yard at night and ran off with some poultry. So he set a trap and caught the fox. In revenge, he tied a thick twine to the fox's tail, lit it with fire and set it free. Instead, the fox ran straight to the paddy field, where the rice was ready to be harvested. The rice fields were soon set ablaze, and the farmers lost all their crops.

Revenge is a double-edged sword. You hurt yourself when you hurt your enemy.
